Basketball Recap: Eastern Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Eastern, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 67-42 margin over the Cowan Blackhawks on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Comets have posted since January 5th.

When it comes to explaining why Cowan lost, don't look at Brody Clifford. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Clifford a new career-high in steals (four).

The win got Eastern back to even at 3-3. As for Cowan, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern and Taylor will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Taylor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season. After both having extra time off, Cowan and Madison-Grant will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
