Football Recap: Cohen Mcclamroch and Jaxon Wireman Lead the Defense for Crawfordsville Win

Crawfordsville won the last time they faced Fountain Central, and Maddox Ronco did his part to make sure it happened again. The Athenians came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 15-7 on Friday with plenty of help from Ronco, who picked up 78 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 30 yards. His longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards.

Crawfordsville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cohen McClamroch and Jaxon Wireman. Another thorn in Fountain Central's side was Jaden Leap, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Crawfordsville has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points this season. As for Fountain Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Crawfordsville and Fountain Central will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Athenians will challenge rival Western Boone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fountain Central is set to take on their familiar foe Riverton Parke at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
