Softball Recap: Superior Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Superior waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Mogollon Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-5 on Friday.

Alyna Cruz made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Cruz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Superior let Savannah Magallanez and Lessenia Ramirez run wild. Magallanez went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Ramirez went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was Magallanez's first of the season. Barbie Ybarra was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Superior was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mogollon only posted a batting average of .238.

Superior's record is now 19-2-1. As for Mogollon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.

Superior wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 19-0 victory against Duncan on the 1st. As for Mogollon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-11 win against Ray on the 27th.
