Malad is a perfect 4-0 against Firth since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Dragons will venture away from home to square off against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Malad is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12 runs per game this season.
Malad's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over North Fremont. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Riglee Peterson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Malad got a massive performance out of Aubrey Shulz, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave Shulz a new career-high. Kialey Pickett also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Firth posted their closest win since May 7, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Declo 7-6.
Andrea Fielding was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Mckenna Erickson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Malad's record is now 11-2. As for Firth, their record now sits at 3-7.
Firth's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Malad has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Firth, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Malad keep running through batters, or will the Cougars buck the trend?
Malad was able to grind out a solid win over Firth in their previous matchup back in April of 2019, winning 10-7. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
