The Northside Vikings lost against the Peabody Warhorses back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Northside was outmatched by Peabody on the road and fell 67-32. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northside in their matchups with Peabody: they've now lost seven in a row.
Peabody's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Burns, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds. Burns is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Jordan Mathews was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds.
Northside now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Peabody, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.
Northside will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. Lafayette is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Peabody, they will take on Booker T. Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Booker T. Washington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 134th in Florida, while Peabody is ranked second in Louisiana).
