Northeastern has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the New Castle Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Northeastern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
Northeastern has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 28 points or more this season. They really took it to Hagerstown for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-15 win at home. With Northeastern ahead 48-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Addisen Mastriano continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Mikesell, who scored five points along with seven assists and seven steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-24, which was the final score in New Castle's tilt against Jay County on Thursday. While losing is never fun, New Castle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Jay County is ranked 53rd).
Northeastern is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for New Castle, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-11.
