Baseball Recap: St. Charles North Takes a Loss

The St. Charles North North Stars came up short against the Sycamore Spartans on Thursday and fell 11-6.

St. Charles North got a good showing from Emerson Miller, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Miller has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, St. Charles North saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Macholz, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Macholz also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

St. Charles North's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Sycamore, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Charles North will face off against McHenry at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sycamore, they will square off against Belvidere at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
