The Centaurus Warriors can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They skirted past Greeley West 32-30. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Centaurus also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Ingrid Lorton was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cameron Kidd, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Greeley West's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Arriana Birely, who scored 12 points along with four steals, and Ella Lopez who scored four points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Birely has scored all season.
Centaurus' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Greeley West, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Centaurus will challenge Silver Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Centaurus is coming into the matchup with four straight victories on the road, meaning Silver Creek will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Greeley West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mead at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mead will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Greeley West surely won't give up without a fight.
