Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Northside Christian's Third in Last Four Outings

Osceola came into Friday's game looking for another win against Northside Christian, but Elijah Ahlers wouldn't allow it. The Northside Christian Mustangs secured a 61-55 W over the Osceola Warriors on Friday thanks in part to Ahlers, who dropped a double-double on 45 points and 14 boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last 11 times he's played.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rhett Iglinski, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Osceola is 8-2 when Iglinski posts eight or more boards, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Brooks, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Northside Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Osceola, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Northside Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-64 defeat against Boca Ciega on the 4th. As for Osceola, they will take on Gibbs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gibbs has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 211 points over their last three games.
