The Thetford Academy Panthers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They snuck past Williamstown with a 49-43 win. That's another feather in the cap for Thetford Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Williamstown still got an impressive performance from Evan Bailey, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Bailey scored a full 41.9% of Williamstown's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Colby Laggner, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Thetford Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Williamstown, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Thetford Academy will head out on the road to face off against Oxbow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Williamstown will be home for the holidays to greet Vergennes at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Vergennes is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
