The Holy Cross Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 67-26 loss at the hands of Trenton Catholic Academy. If Holy Cross was looking for revenge after losing 56-31 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Trenton Catholic Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mayah Alford led the charge by dropping a triple-double on 14 points, 13 rebounds, and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Moore, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists.
Holy Cross dropped their record down to 8-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Trenton Catholic Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
Holy Cross will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Delran is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. Trenton Catholic Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Panthers at 5:15 p.m. on February 2nd. Westampton Tech is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
