Lower Richland has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lower Richland can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Swansea 67-24 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Lower Richland has posted yet this season.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 46) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Dreher and snuck past 42-39. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Orangeburg-Wilkinson has scored all season.
Maurion Gordon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Keith Smith, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Lower Richland is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.
Lower Richland couldn't quite finish off Orangeburg-Wilkinson in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 56-53. Can Lower Richland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
