The LaProgresiva Presbyterian Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Edison Private Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. LaProgresiva Presbyterian will be strutting in after a win while Edison Private will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, LaProgresiva Presbyterian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Varsity Opponent, but they still walked away with a 45-40 victory. The win was just what LaProgresiva Presbyterian needed coming off of a 55-30 loss in their prior game.
LaProgresiva Presbyterian found their leader in underclassman Lazaro Echevarria, who scored 16 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Echevarria has scored at least 25% of LaProgresiva Presbyterian's points. Matthew Pineda was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Edison Private, who are still winless after their fourth game. They were beaten by Sheridan Hills Christian 69-35 two weeks ago. Edison Private was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-17.
The losses dropped LaProgresiva Presbyterian to 1-1 and Varsity Opponent to 106-398-5.
LaProgresiva Presbyterian came up short against Edison Private when the teams last played back in December of 2015, falling 44-38. Can LaProgresiva Presbyterian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
