Socorro extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Alyssa Almanza. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Parkland Matadors by a score of 2-0 on Friday thanks in part to Almanza, who had 20 digs and two aces. Almanza is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season.

Socorro not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Parkland between 18 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18.

Socorro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ayeleen Gutierrez led the charge by getting five digs and two aces.

Socorro's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Parkland, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6.

Socorro has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Eastlake on the 23rd. As for Parkland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Del Valle on the 23rd.
