Steele hasn't had much luck against Brunswick recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. Brunswick took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Steele, who comes in off a win.
Steele is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Strongsville.
While Steele might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Strongsville scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 19-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Steele can attribute much of their success to Hector Mendez, who had 17 digs and three aces, and Joe Penano, who had four digs and two aces. Those 17 digs gave Mendez a new career-high.
They weren't the only good servers: Steele was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Strongsville only served five.
Brunswick kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against St. Ignatius, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost seven in a row.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-6, 25-13.
Steele might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Brunswick when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Comets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other volleyball content.
