There's no place like home for the Pine View Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 60-51 victory over Manti on Thursday. For Pine View, this counts as revenge for the 66-51 defeat Manti walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Nash Schroeder was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Pine View's points. Griffen Shepherd was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Manti lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jessen Barton, who scored 13 points along with six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Hunter Stevens, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Manti were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pine View's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Manti, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3.
