Basketball Recap: Argonaut's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After a string of six wins, Argonaut's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to the Union Mine Diamondbacks 85-79. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (77), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Argonaut still got an impressive performance from Mitchell Mcmahan, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 12 rebounds. Mcmahan's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Caspary, who went 7 for 13 en route to 17 points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Argonaut smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive contests.

Union Mine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cole Patterson, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Matt Manfredi, who posted 21 points and six rebounds.

Argonaut's loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 18-5. As for Union Mine, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season.

Argonaut has already played their next matchup, an 86-80 victory against Liberty Ranch on the 31st. As for Union Mine, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-47 win against Bradshaw Christian on the 31st.
