 Legacy got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Jaedon Ward out in front who  went 7 of 11  to rack up 19 points.  Monarch's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Logan Laverty, who  posted 14 points and eight  steals. Laverty is becoming a predictor of Monarch's success: when he posts  at  least five  steals the team is 4-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of  Justin Myers, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 13  points and nine  boards.
Legacy's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Monarch,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 10-9.
 Legacy and Monarch should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. Legacy will  challenge  Silver Creek  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday up  113 places (38 vs. 151). Legacy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7  points per game  this season. Similarly,  Monarch (ranked 56th) will meet Niwot (ranked 234th)  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
