The Boyd Yellowjackets will face off against the Paradise Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Boyd 2.8, Paradise 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Paradise's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Boyd hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Yellowjackets' pitcher stepped up to hand Ponder a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won eight in a row.

Not much got past Abby Atkinson, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Ponder off the board. Atkinson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Paradise, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against Pilot Point on Tuesday as they made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
McKenna Snyder made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Snyder was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Brooke Limbaugh was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Laura Siek was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Paradise kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Paradise has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Boyd, their win bumped their record up to 22-4-2.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Boyd hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Paradise struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Boyd came out on top in a nail-biter against Paradise in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Yellowjackets repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
