Lyndon Academy had to endure an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out the Creekside Christian Academy Cougars 11-10 on Thursday. The team relied heavily on Gyselle Marquez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Bell, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
The victory got Lyndon Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Creekside Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lyndon Academy will venture away from home to challenge Peachtree Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Creekside Christian Academy, they will head out to square off against Scholars Guild Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
