Douglas is 1-9 against Nipmuc Regional since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Douglas had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Assabet Valley RVT on Friday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Aztecs. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

In other batting news, Ethan Curry was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Nason, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Nipmuc Regional owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They skirted past Framingham 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since May 13, 2024.
Nipmuc Regional saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Giancola, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Sean Burchard also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Douglas is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Nipmuc Regional, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Douglas suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Nipmuc Regional in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
