Eastern extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 2-12. They lost 22-5 to the Lanesville Eagles. If the Musketeers were looking for revenge after losing 6-3 to the Eagles when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Eastern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ivy Dixon, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
As for Lanesville, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
On Lanesville's side, Izzie Rawlings and Makenna Mills were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Rawlings tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Mills tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rawlings has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. At bat, Rawlings got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Mills got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Rawlings has snagged this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madelyn Magner, who went 2-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Kelton, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Eastern didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-0 defeat against Henryville on the 12th. As for Lanesville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-5 loss against Charlestown on the 12th.
