The Gadsden City Titans and the Parker Thundering Herd squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Gadsden City Titans had to settle for second. They took a hard 35-20 fall against the Thundering Herd. Gadsden City's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Parker got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chancellor Sparks out in front who rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Sparks was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Naeem Offord was in the mix as well, providing Parker with three touchdowns.
Parker's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Gadsden City's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Parker, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Gadsden City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Parker will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Clay-Chalkville at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Clay-Chalkville: 10.3, Parker: 12.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
