After a string of three wins, the Hiram Hornets's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They suffered a tough 70-48 defeat at the hands of Pace Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hiram has scored all season.
Leading Pace Academy to victory were Chandler Bing and Eric Chatfield. Bing scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Chatfield scored 19 points along with three steals. Chatfield has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamar Moore, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Hiram's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Pace Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Hiram won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cass at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Cass focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday. As for Pace Academy, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome McDonough at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th.
