After flying high against Marshall Academy last Tuesday, Starkville Academy came back down to earth. The Starkville Academy Volunteers fell 37-30 to the Pillow Academy Mustangs on Friday. The Volunteers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Despite the defeat, Starkville Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Raylee Jones dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jones has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Couvillion, who posted seven points.
