Hawkins was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 12th to sixth in Freelance. The Wolfpack beat John Paul II 19-12 earlier in the week.
Tornillo moved up to 978 from 1,057 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Coyotes were able to make the jump by beating the Coyotes 14-0.
College Station's dynamic duo of Cole Whittlesey and Jeremiah Booker proved tough for St. Michael's to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Whittlesey threw for 87 yards and Booker had 45 yards receiving. Nicholas Kennedy helped College Station's passing attack out by catching four balls for 18 yards.
Rene Sormiento was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 195 yards on 29 carries as A Plus Academy fell to the Crusaders. Scotty Collins also contributed to the rushing game with 79 yards on the ground.
Dallas HSAA North's Chase Bryant and Micah Sherman have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Freelance in both passing and receiving yards. Bryant has thrown for 757 yards this season, while Sherman has 20 catches for 291 yards. Sormiento from the Knights leads the league in rushing with 314 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when St. Mary's Hall takes on Hawkins. At the moment, the Barons are in fourth, while Steve Breed's team is in sixth.
All Saints Episcopal led the league in scoring this week after putting up 29 points on Bishop Gorman.
