The Dr. Phillips Panthers will challenge the Innovation Bulls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dr. Phillips will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
On Thursday, Dr. Phillips made easy work of Wekiva and carried off an 18-3 win. Considering the Panthers have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Reagan Wimberly and Alexandra Dougherty made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Wimberly pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Dougherty pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Wimberly has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Wimberly went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Dougherty got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Wimberly has snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Innovation's offense. They came up short against South Lake on Friday, falling 21-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Bulls' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Dr. Phillips' victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Innovation, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dr. Phillips hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Innovation struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
