Haughton is 2-8 against Parkway since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Haughton Buccaneers will head out on the road to challenge the Parkway Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Haughton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Captain Shreve at home and fell 61-32. While losing is never fun, Haughton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Captain Shreve is ranked 46th).
Meanwhile, Parkway pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-60 to Benton. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Tuesday (59), Parkway still had to take the loss.
Haughton bumped their record down to 9-13 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Parkway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.
Haughton came up short against Parkway when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 90-77. Can Haughton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
