The West Bolivar Eagles will be playing at home against the South Delta Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Bolivar is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Last Friday, West Bolivar came up short against West Tallahatchie and fell 18-6.
South Delta can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They really took it to Leland for the full four quarters, racking up a 46-0 victory at home. South Delta pushed the score to 38-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Leland had no chance of recovering from.
South Delta relied on the efforts of Marvin Powell, who gained 116 total yards and a touchdown, and JaMichael Green, who rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Dekevion Miller, who rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
South Delta's victory bumped their season record to 3-5 while West Bolivar's defeat dropped theirs to 2-6.
West Bolivar took a serious blow against South Delta when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 60-14. Thankfully for West Bolivar, Trevon Brown (who rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also picked up 31 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
