Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln County Lynx vs. GV Christian Guardians

Lincoln County has gone 4-0 against GV Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lincoln County Lynx will welcome the GV Christian Guardians at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Lincoln County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

Last Tuesday, Lincoln County was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to White Pine.

Despite their defeat, Lincoln County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kalen Bart, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Bart's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Padderatz, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Lincoln County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, GV Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 87-58 loss at the hands of Needles. While losing is never fun, the Guardians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 78th in Nevada, while the Mustangs are ranked 14th in California).

Lincoln County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7. As for GV Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

Lincoln County skirted past GV Christian 51-49 in their previous matchup on January 14th. Does Lincoln County have another victory up their sleeve, or will GV Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
