The Hillsboro Eagles pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 81-55 loss at the hands of Kennedale. It was the first time this season that Hillsboro let down their fans at home.
Defeat or not, Hillsboro got some senior leadership from Tory Brooks who scored 12 points and Landon Tucker who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Tucker scored a full 30.9% of Hillsboro's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kameron Rose was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Hillsboro's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5. As for Kennedale, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
Hillsboro and Valley View will round out the year against one another at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Valley View is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Kennedale will finish 2023 at home by hosting Saginaw at 6:30 p.m. on December 28th.
