Corbin Hardy made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
Meanwhile, Bear River made easy work of Bountiful on Tuesday and carried off an 11-1 victory. Considering the Bears have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Bountiful's batters probably weren't too happy with Stephen Starnes, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up seven walks).
On the hitting side, Broxton Gardner was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Boston White was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Bear River hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters every time they've taken the field this season.
Bear River's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Timpanogos, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Timpanogos has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Bear River struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Timpanogos couldn't quite finish off Bear River in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 4-2. Will the Timberwolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
