Vinal RVT is 1-9 against Cheney Tech since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Hawks will host the Beavers at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Vinal RVT duked it out with Academy of Science and Innovation on Friday. The Hawks walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Ravens.

Erick Leue made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Sean Weske was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs. Jameson Richwine was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Cheney Tech came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Jets 18-3. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Vinal RVT, Cheney Tech also got a great game from a two-way player: Lucas Carlson. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Carlson also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cheney Tech is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Carlson was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Salkeld, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kishon Lewis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Cheney Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .675. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.
Vinal RVT's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Cheney Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Vinal RVT has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. However, it's not like Cheney Tech struggles in that department as they've averaged .527. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Vinal RVT suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Cheney Tech in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Hawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
