Clifton had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 34-point drubbing they dealt Whitney on Friday. The Clifton Cubs claimed a resounding 53-19 win over the Whitney Wildcats. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Addison Martin had a dynamite game for Clifton, going 5 for 8 on her way to 15 points. Natalia Gaona was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.

Clifton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for Whitney, their defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-19.
