Canyon extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 24-12. They put the hurt on the Steele Knights with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.
Marlee Lightsey paced Canyon's offense, picking up 11 kills. Lightsey got some help from Logan Sanders and her 34 assists. Ava Mead controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
As for Steele, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 22-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since August 26th.
Steele lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kaycie Lopez, who had 14 assists and four digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.
