Fans got a thrill when Will Burnham and Russell Holden connected against Centerville. The connection was good for 78 yards, the longest such play in 2A-2 Region II District 6 this season.
Scurry-Rosser scaled the state rankings by moving to 728 from 804 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of besting Grand Saline 24-16.
Mildred's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Burnham threw for 147 yards and Holden had 105 yards receiving. On the ground Draylon Sterling contributed 60 yards. Sterling helped Mildred's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 20 yards.
