The Placer Hillmen put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Antelope and snuck past 64-61. Given Placer's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Antelope is ranked 201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, Antelope saw an underclassman step up: SirMister Harriel scored 21 points along with 5 rebounds. The contest was Harriel's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Thompson, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Placer has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 7-0 record. As for Antelope, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Placer will take on Davis at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Davis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Friday. As for Antelope, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Sacramento at 7:30 p.m.
