The Lindale Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Iowa Colony Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lindale had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 49-28 margin over Vidor. With Lindale ahead 42-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Iowa Colony put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 37-0 victory over Furr. Given Iowa Colony's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Furr is ranked 833rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Iowa Colony found their leader in underclassman Aaron Tenner, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Haydon Caston got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Lindale to 7-4 and Iowa Colony to 11-0.
