Baseball Recap: First Assembly Christian Has No Trouble Against Cordova

First Assembly Christian's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Cordova Wolves with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Crusaders' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Christian Forrest made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Forrest was even better at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. First Assembly Christian is undefeated when Forrest posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-17-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Conner Palmer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two doubles, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of First Assembly Christian's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 8-17-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Henry Jones, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

First Assembly Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

With the win, First Assembly Christian broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-17-1. As for Cordova, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4-1 record this season.

First Assembly Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 18-3 victory against Whitehaven on the 25th. As for Cordova, they will host Overton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
