The Southern Bulldogs had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Indian Creek as Southern made off with a 64-39 win. This was payback for Southern, who suffered a 52-50 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Southern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Wooster led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Tompkins, who scored 5 points along with 14 rebounds and 5 assists.
Southern's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Indian Creek, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
