HAZLET, N.J. - the Bulldogs scored 15 points in the third quarter to secure a big 28-6 victory over
Raritan (Hazlet, N.J.) on Saturday.
Rumson-Fair Haven scored on two rushing touchdowns in the quarter, including two by
Charlie Volker.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Volker in the first quarter, RFH led 6-0 at the half.
The Rumson school expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Volker.
With the win Rumson-Fair Haven extended its winning streak to five games. Rumson-Fair Haven defeated Red Bank Regional 27-0 last week.
Raritan's only touchdown came on a 58-yard pass from
Riley Sullivan to
Colby Jones in the fourth quarter.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 31-10 win for RFH.
The loss comes after Raritan defeated Monmouth Regional 31-16 last week.
Raritan (1-5) goes up against Colonia in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Rumson-Fair Haven (5-0) locks horns with Monsignor Donovan also in a non-conference game.
