The Del Oro Sun came into Thursday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Mira Monte by a score of 63-50 on Thursday. This was payback for Del Oro, who suffered a 90-53 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Del Oro to victory were Jorge Castillo and Josue Lopez-Perez. Castillo scored 14 points, while Lopez-Perez scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keenan Starling, who scored eight points.
Del Oro's victory bumped their record up to 6-21. As for Mira Monte, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
Del Oro will head out on the road to face off against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 195 points over their last three games. As for Mira Monte, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Bears at 5:00 p.m. Arvin will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
