Baseball Recap: Switzerland County Wins Going Away Against Rising Sun

After only one run in their last match, Switzerland County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Rising Sun on Wednesday. The Pacers blew past the Shiners 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Pacers, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Roman Hite made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braxton Eaglin, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Carson Byrd also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Switzerland County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rising Sun only posted a batting average of .118.

Switzerland County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Rising Sun, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Switzerland County will head out to face off against Brownstown Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Rising Sun, they will host Milan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
