The Chinle Wildcats entered their tilt with the Alchesay Falcons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Chinle strolled past Alchesay with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 61-42. Given Chinle's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Alchesay is ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jostaiah Harvey, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Davian John, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brent Aday, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Ty Gushoney, who scored 12 points.
Chinle's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Alchesay, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.
Chinle will head out on the road to square off against Window Rock at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alchesay, they will be playing at home against Chinle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
