Lake Lure Classical Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Levi, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.
Meanwhile, Pinnacle Classical Academy entered their tilt with Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Crusaders 10-3. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Evie Hawkins was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maggie Gomez-Huffman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Riley Lawrence was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles.
Pinnacle Classical Academy's record now sits at 8-2. As for Lake Lure Classical Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Lake Lure Classical Academy suffered a grim 25-0 defeat to Pinnacle Classical Academy in their previous meeting last Wednesday. Can the Raptors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
