Basketball Recap: JAKEEL TRUSS's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Soulsville over Kirby

Soulsville suffered their biggest loss since February 5th on Wednesday. They came up short against the Kirby Cougars, falling 80-60. While losing is never fun, the Revolution can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Cougars are ranked 111th).

Soulsville lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being JAKEEL TRUSS, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. TRUSS's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of NICKARREON WILLIAMS, who posted 16 points along with seven assists and three steals.

Carey McClain continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kirby, putting up 25 points. McClain is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last seven games he's played.

Soulsville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Kirby, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Soulsville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 85-41 loss against St. George's on the 20th. As for Kirby, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-57 victory against Raleigh-Egypt on the 27th.
