The Dresden Lions will take on the Lake County Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Dresden's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Lake County has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
On Monday, Dresden beat Westview 7-3.
Caylin Boaz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Gracie Adams was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Emma Parham, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Lake County can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over Fulton City. With that win, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
McKensi Hays made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Hays was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Lake County let Mariah Valentine and Caren Johnson run wild. Valentine scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1, while Johnson went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Johnson's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlin Jones, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Lake County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .870. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Dresden's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Lake County, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
Everything went Dresden's way against Lake County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Dresden made off with a 15-0 victory. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
