The Redmond Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Bellevue Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Monday, Redmond came up short against Issaquah and fell 6-2. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Redmond got a good showing from Owen Gore, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, Redmond saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Lawson, who went 2-for-4 with one double. That's the most hits Lawson has posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Bellevue sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Inglemoor on Monday.
Jack Corsi tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dylan Leaird, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Rankin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Bellevue was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Redmond's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Bellevue, their record now sits at 6-3.
Redmond was able to grind out a solid victory over Bellevue in their previous meeting back in April of 2018, winning 6-2. Will Redmond repeat their success, or does Bellevue has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
