Aptos (Calif.) beat Scotts Valley (Calif.) 49-0 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Joh to Ungerecht in the first quarter, the Mariners led 42-0 at the half.
Aptos expanded its lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. AHS's lone score in the quarter came on a rushing touchdown.
A 28-point first quarter helped the Mariners secure the big victory. Aptos scored on a touchdown pass by Joh to Ungerecht, a
Michael Chavez touchdown run, an Joh touchdown pass to Ungerecht and a touchdown run by Ungerecht in the quarter.
AHS went into the matchup giving up only 17.2 points per game.
A 36-21 Aptos victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Scotts Valley defeated Soquel 18-14 last week. With the win Aptos extended its winning streak to three games.
Scotts Valley (5-2) goes up against San Lorenzo Valley in a Santa Cruz Coast game matchup next week, while Aptos (5-2) locks horns with Soquel also in a Santa Cruz Coast game.
