Kettle Run has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Skyline Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kettle Run will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Skyline is ranked 121st).
Last Wednesday, Kettle Run was able to grind out a solid win over Warren County, taking the game 54-43. That looming 54-43 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Kettle Run yet this season.
Meanwhile, Skyline scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with an 84-73 win over Brentsville District. The win was just what Skyline needed coming off of a 79-28 loss in their prior match.
Kettle Run's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Skyline, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Everything went Kettle Run's way against Skyline in their previous matchup back in December of 2015 as Kettle Run made off with a 74-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kettle Run since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
